- To ensure all delegates can react in such a way so as to hasten the arrival of the emergency services to ensure all delegates understand the requirements for the contents of the first aid box.
- To ensure delegates have basic resuscitation knowledge

- Control of Bleeding
- Treatment for Shock
- Treatment for Burns
- Medical Emergencies.

Note EFAW person should not be expected to administer first aid for which they have not been trained. EFAW persons are there to co-ordinate the emergency services from initial contact to arrival.
They are expected to ensure the first aid box is complete and available. Who Should Attend? Any employee who has been deemed an: Emergency First Aid at Work Person, to take charge in the event of an accident. Note: Certificate lasts 3 years
