Asbestos Awareness UKATA

Aims and Objectives 

• To provide delegates with an awareness of asbestos, where it might be found and how it causes illness, thereby ensuring they are aware of a potential hazard and what to do.
• To give delegates a basic understanding in recognising asbestos when working.
• To ensure delegates appreciate the potential risk and long-term health effects.
• To help delegates identify buildings that are more likely to contain asbestos/location.
• To examine relevant risk assessments and control measures.
• To ensure delegates understand what action to take if they encounter or disturb a material, the identity of which they are unsure.
• To make delegates aware of current legislation.

Course Duration 

Half Day (Approximately 3.5 - 4 hours)

Certification

Delegates must achieve 12 out of 15 (80%) for a UKATA certificate. Failure to achieve this will result in the candidate requiring to re-sit the examination under exam conditions. If a candidate further fails the second attempt then they will be required to re-sit the course its in entirety. 

UKATA certificates are valid for one year.

CITB Grants 

If your company is CITB registered, please provide your CITB levy number upon booking. Delegates will need to provide their full name, address, national insurance number and date of birth if you would like to claim for a grant, failure to do so will mean the delegates' achievement will not be uploaded and your grant will not be paid. Please provide the information to the training team before the course to avoid delay.
